A beehive, a sneer, and a whole lot of attitude on a bright floral-blue ground. She's all bite — the kind of character who walks into the frame already annoyed with you, and she's a blast to look at for exactly that reason.
STAUNCH CHARACTERS
Staunch Characters is the series where Markus is just having fun. No thesis, no hidden wound — this is bold character-building for the pleasure of it, closer to illustration than to statement. Each figure is knocked out in fast, confident black brushwork against a single loud color stamped with one repeating motif: horseshoes, polka dots, paisley, leaves. The economy is the whole appeal. A few slashing strokes and a barber, a cowboy, a snarling pin-up snap fully into being, each one a complete personality with an attitude to match. These are characters you'd want on a poster, a record sleeve, a wall — painted for the sheer kick of making a face that reads instantly and refuses to be forgotten.
